Abstract This paper presents the expansion and improvement of an analytical model previously published by the authors, enabling the simulation of oblique impact onto fibre reinforced composite thin targets. The paper also includes the experimental results of firing tests onto carbon/epoxy composite targets at different impact angles. An excellent agreement is observed between analytical and experimental results both of ballistic limit and residual velocity after perforation as well.
