Abstract An organic single crystal of l -Arginine glutarate (LAG) was successfully grown by liquid diffusion technique at room temperature. From X-ray diffraction study it was determined that the crystal crystallized in the monoclinic system with centrosymmetric space group. The optical absorption spectrum of l -Arginine glutarate has been recorded. The structure of grown crystal was established using Nuclear magnetic resonance spectral analysis. The presence of functional group was identified by FTIR and FT Raman spectral studies. Thermal property of l -Arginine glutarate crystal have been reported. SHG test was carried out to reconfirm the centrosymmetric nature of the grown crystal.
