Abstract A “flash” imaging ladar has a great advantage in terminal guidance for the fast flying platform, but the application is limited by large volume and high power constraints, main caused by the laser transmitter. This paper proposed a laser can normally work for a short time without cooling system under the temperature field (60 °C–80 °C) of the fast flying platform. In this paper, the stable output of 20 mJ per pulse is obtained under this temperature field by using the alexandrite laser without cooling system, and it can be working for more than 7 min by using the quartz xenon lamp pump.
