Abstract Reflection and transmission characteristics of a planar interface, of non-integer dimensional (NID) dielectric-chiral mediums, are studied for oblique incident electromagnetic linearly polarized plane wave. For this purpose, reflected power for parallel and perpendicularly polarized incident wave is determined and analysed. NID dielectric-chiral nihility interface is also considered as a special case. It is noted that NID parameter and its variation has significant impact on electromagnetic characteristics of the interface under investigation. It can effect the existence and location of the Brewster angle. For a particular range of incident angle and specific value of the NID parameter, the interface may be used as reflection free interface. NID parameter may also be used to convert a reflection free interface into a reflecting interface.
