Abstract We investigate nonclassical properties of the quantum state generated by adding any number of photons to the two-mode coherent states. This novel quantum state is also a superposition of photon-added two-mode CSs (PATMCS). It is shown that the normalization factor of the PATMCS is related to the Laguerre polynomials. The quantum statistical properties, squeezing effects, entanglement and nonlocality are also discussed analytically. Our results show that the PATMCS is a new nonclassical, squeezing and entangled state with negative Wigner function, negative quadrature squeezing and violation of the Bell-CHSH inequality.
