Abstract Properties of electromagnetic field, reflected and transmitted from a planar metafilm placed at the interface of two non integer dimensional (NID) mediums are studied. For this purpose, the metafilm is excited by a TE/TM plane wave at oblique angle of incidence. Generalized sheet transition conditions are used to obtain the reflection and transmission coefficients. It is shown that the behavior of these coefficients depends both on electric and magnetic polarizability of the scatterers composing the metafilm and the value of NID parameters describing the NID mediums. Moreover, it is also found that the change in NID parameters shows effective changes in the behavior of reflection and transmission coefficients.
