Abstract This short comment deals with the exp − ϕ ξ -expansion method proposed recently in some articles, see for example the two articles [1] , [2] . We will show by very simple calculations that this method is exactly equivalent to the well-known G ′ / G -expansion method proposed in the article [3] .
