Abstract The coupled nonlinear Schrodinger system with spatially modulated nonlinearities is discussed by the variable separation and ansatz methods. Two families of explicit vector vortices with arbitrary vorticity are generated. Some basic properties of the vector vortices are studied, including the amplitude profiles, the influences of parameters, the linear and dynamics stability.
