Abstract This work deals with the study of light scattering by biological tissues in order to determine indicators allowing differentiating between cancerous and normal tissues in cases of human organs. For that purpose, we analyzed intensity and spectral variations of scattered light in relative of its direction depending on cells nuclei diameters. A data bank was achieved by changing important parameters. Then an optical set-up using a very sensitive hemispherical detector was built. Intensity distributions obtained experimentally are directly correlated to those saved in the data bank to give the right diameter of cells nuclei (particles). The paper gives the main obtained results.
