Abstract This paper locates bright and singular optical solitons and their conserved quantities for Kudryashov’s sextic power–law of refractive index that has been very recently proposed. Kudryashov’s integration scheme makes this retrieval of solitons possible. The solitons are enumerated with their respective existence criterion.
