Abstract This paper employs the modified Kudryashov's approach and addendum to Kudryashov's scheme for extracting optical soliton solutions for highly dispersive nonlinear perturbation Schrodinger equation having Kudryashov's arbitrary form with sextic–power law refractive index and generalized non–local laws. Bright, dark, singular solitons and combo bright–singular solitons are recovered. The modified Kudryashov's scheme gives dark, singular solitons and combo bright–singular solitons, while the addendum to Kudryashov's approach secures bright and singular solitons.
