Abstract This paper retrieves optical solitons to the perturbed Biswas-Milovic equation which describe the propagation of pulses of various types in optical fiber. Hamiltonian type perturbations are considered with maximum intensity. Kudryashov's law is studied. The Jacobi elliptic function solutions are found using the unified auxiliary equation method. Dark solitons, singular solitons, bright solitons, combo singular solitons and combo dark-singular solitons are obtained.
