Highlights • Traumatic hip dislocation associated with multipart femural fractures is a rare and severe injury and it usually occurs following a high energy trauma, associated acetabulum fracture are even more rare.• High energy traumas of the hip joint potentially cause devastating consequences including avascular necrosis (AVN) and subsequent early secondary osteoarthritis of the hip.• In managing an unstable polytraumatized patient the surgeons must be more careful and propose a staged treatment strategy.
