Highlights • Primary small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the breast is a very rare diagnosis.• It has similar features to small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the lung.• Diagnostic workup must exclude metastasis from another primary site.• Treatment combines approaches for more common types of lung and breast cancer.• Further studies are needed to standardized the treatment for primary SCNCB.
