Highlights • Whale’s tail flap technique displayed significant improvement of hard and soft tissue conditions.• To demonstrate the readers the efficiency of this flap in anterior teeth zone where aesthetic is the main concern.• This technique proves that primary closure of the wound site is of utmost importance for periodontal regeneration.• This allows regeneration of large defects with notable midline diastemas.• It recreates a functional attachment by maintaining the interproximal tissues.
