Highlights • Intra-abdominal desmoplastic small round cell tumour is a rare tumour not previously reported in a female over the age of 50.• Disparity between radiological and histological appearances should prompt further review and investigation.• Clear and timely communication between different surgical units in order to provide efficient care.• Due to the rarity of intra-abdominal DSRCT there is little evidence on effective treatment beyond surgical resection.
