Highlights • Sclerosing epithelioid fibrosarcoma (SEF) is a rare mesenchymal tumor.• SEF appears to be a slowly growing tumor often present for several months or years before diagnosis.• A tumor of the gluteal region may mimic a sciatic nerve pain.• SEF has a poor prognosis with high risk of metastasis.• The treatment is surgical.
