Abstract The paper describes the method for obtaining barium hexaferrite with different degrees of aluminum doping. Samples were obtained in the form of powder. The composition of the samples was confirmed by the X-ray test results. A method of measuring the electrodynamic parameters of material samples in the frequency range of 32–50 GHz using waveguide transmission line is described. The values of the real and imaginary parts of permittivity and permeability, based on the measured S-parameters, are obtained using the Nicolson-Ross-Weir method. The behavior of the calculated dependences of the electrodynamic parameters on frequency is explained by the influence of dipole, resonant, and electronic polarization.
