Abstract This manuscript is an attempt to extend the Strained Tetrahedron Model to the interpretation of the EXAFS spectra of Group-IV-IV binary tetrahedron ordered B3 zinc blende alloys. The analysis clearly points out the difference of these systems respect to other binary alloys. To illustrate and describe the application of the Strained Tetrahedron Model a revised characterization of Ge1-xSix and Ge1-xSnx alloys is presented and discussed.
