Abstract Based on the Radon transform, this work presents an automation methodology to determine the inclination angle of the non-parallel BSRs. The non-parallel BSR pattern recognition system was tested with synthetic and real seismic reflection images (from offshore the southern Baja California Peninsula) localizing the BSRs properly in all the cases. The pattern recognition system shows that low time is used to process the seismic images, the methodology is easy to implement in desktop or laptop machines. Therefore, it would be a useful tool to work in situ.
