Abstract The authors report on the magnetization and magnetic domains of ferromagnetic MnAs nanoclusters located at relatively close range in a bended MnAs/InAs heterojunction nanowire, which are occasionally observed in the nanowires with multiple MnAs nanoclusters, on the basis of the structural and magnetization characterization results. The magnetization of MnAs nanoclusters is oriented along the external magnetic field directions, in particular, in the case of MnAs nanoclusters formed in the almost straight (or slightly bending) heterojunction nanowires. However, the magnetization of a MnAs nanocluster at the markedly bending position of heterojunction nanowires is occasionally directed by the magnetic force microscope tip magnetization. The decrease in the coercivity of nanoclusters may affect the magnetization directions of nanoclusters at the bending position of heterojunction nanowires.
