Abstract Herein, we report a simple and effective strategy to synthesize biomass from low-cost and resource sustainability furfural residues (FRs) using one-pot hydrothermal synthesis. Furthermore, due to their typically good chemical stability, and great using of waste materials, the high removal efficiency of tetracycline (TC) and oxytetracycline (OTC) antibiotics were determined by adsorption tests. The biomass exhibited improvement in adsorption rate (38.74% to 89.63% for TC, 71.13% to 92.87% for OTC) by comparing with furfural residues.
