Abstract In the present study, a sensitive and a low-priced electrochemically polymerized DL-phenylalanine graphite electrode (Poly(DLPA)-GE) wasdesigned for Dopamine (DA) sensing. The redox activity of DA was inspected at this developed electrode via cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) in a phosphate buffer (PB) with pH 6.5. The achieved voltammetric result presents that Poly(DLPA)-GE exposes a significant enrichment in DA redox currents with the declining of overpotential than the bare graphite electrode (BGE). In the optimal operating conditions, Poly(DLPA)-GE describes a fine linear enhancement for DA oxidation in the concentration range of 2.0 μM to 45.0 μM with an estimated lower limit of detection (LOD) of 28 nM and limit of quantification (LOQ) of 93 nM. The proposed electrode shows fine selectivity and sensitivity for DA analysis in the presence of interfering moieties such as Ascorbic acid (AA), Uric acid (UA) and organic dyes. Finally, the sensor was effectively verified for the actual DA detection in the madicinal sample.
