Dear Friends, Colleagues and Trainees, The Great William Osler once said: “The best preparation for tomorrow is to do today's work superbly well”. As the Journal of Electrocardiology enters a new era of growth, it does so with a strong investment in its leaders of tomorrow—the trainees of today. It is my great privilege to have accepted the position of Section Editor for the new “Residents and Fellows Corner” in the journal. This section presents an opportunity for investigators-in-training. Published manuscripts are considered academic currency and this holds especially true for trainees. Academic papers highlight work and accomplishments to future supervisors, collaborators and interested international audience. They are also important proof of accomplishment that will help secure research grants and future academic appointments. In addition to publishing trainee-led original research, The Residents and Fellows Corner will allow for publication of “pilot” data and reviews that set the stage for a trainee's
