Abstract μ-Nitrido diiron phthalocyanine complex has shown great performance in cyclohexane oxidation. Catalytic activity of μ-nitrido-bis[tetra(tert-butyl)phthalocyaninatoiron] complex could dramatically be enhanced in the presence of perfluoro carboxylic acid. Turnover number of cyclohexane oxidation reached 504, with 10 mM of trifluoro acetic acid (TFA), which is more than 15-fold increase compared to that without TFA. Interaction between perfluorinated COO− group and metal center is thought to form stable reaction intermediate and accelerate the reaction. Furthermore, relationship between carbon length of perfluoro carboxylic acid and co-catalytic performance of cyclohexane oxidation was also investigated and the shorter perfluoro carboxylic acid provided higher enhancement.
