Abstract Detailed research of thermoluminescence (TL) properties of Tm3+ doped fluoroelpasolite Cs2NaYF6 crystals synthesized under hydrothermal conditions has been carried out in order to develop new dosimetric material. The basic dosimetric properties of Cs2NaY0.99Tm0.01F6 crystals (Zeff = 33) exposed to beta radiation, such as a TL glow curve shape, beta-dose response, reproducibility, dark fading, have been investigated by using ordinary TL technique at a typical heating rate of 2 °C/s. At this heating rate the Cs2NaY0.99Tm0.01F6 crystal exhibits three well-separated TL peaks: a rapidly decaying peak at 100 °C (Peak 1), a stable peak at 171 °C (Peak 2), and one more low-intensity peak at 240 °C (Peak 3). The deviation of reproducibility for 10 repeated readings of individual samples after exposure to 5 Gy of beta irradiation is
