Abstract A ratio-dependent Holling–Tanner predator–prey model is studied. By investigating the local stability properties of equilibrium points and periodic solutions of a transformed system, and by applying the Poincare–Bendixson theorem, we are able to give a complete classification of the global dynamics of the ratio-dependent Holling–Tanner predator–prey model.
