Abstract In this paper, we establish some Liouville type theorems for positive classical supersolutions in the whole space R N of the elliptic equation − Δ u + a ⋅ ∇ u = u p and of the elliptic system { − Δ u + a ⋅ ∇ u = v p − Δ v + a ⋅ ∇ v = u q . Here, p , q ∈ R and a is a smooth vector field satisfying some growth condition at infinity.
