OBJECTIVE To review the literature to date in the field of uterine transplant. DATA SOURCES Peer reviewed published data. METHODS OF STUDY SELECTION A comprehensive pubmed literature search was performed using the terms "uterus transplant" and "uterine transplantation". TABULATION, INTEGRATION AND RESULTS Of the 75 full-text articles assessed for eligibility, 68 were included in the qualitative synthesis. Nine of these were included in the meta-analysis on living donor uterine transplant, five on deceased donor uterine transplant, and six case reports of single uterine transplant cases. CONCLUSION Uterus transplant is a nascent field undergoing a rapid rate of evolution as programs mature their data and increase the number of procedures performed. The most recent publications and advances are thus summarized here to capture the most up-to-date information.
