Abstract Magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of polycrystalline Eu 0.55 Sr 0.45 Mn O 3 compound have been investigated. In addition to the field induced meta-magnetic transition, magnetically a mixed ground state (ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic) was observed especially at the low temperature (T  - Δ S) derived from Clausius-Clapeyron equation gives the reliable value, useful for magnetic refrigeration cycle.
