Abstract Fibre metal laminates being used in aerospace industries becomes primary composite material under research, since its application finds on the outer covering of the fuselage skin structure, the holes are need to be drilled on it, to assemble it. The effective way of getting good quality hole is to minimize the responses thrust force and torque engendered during the drilling operation. It is achieved through proper choosing of suitable process parameters. The main parameters that have a high impact on the response is feed rate and drill diameter. This paper mainly deals with optimizing the parameters that alter the response in drilling fibre metal sandwich laminate by solid carbide drill bit.
