“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal... .” Nearly 170 years after the Seneca Falls Convention, the call for gender parity remains necessary. However, the anatomy and physiology of both genders are different, so is the vulnerability to disease. There are also important differences between men and women in psychosocial health and behaviour. In this article, we hope to increase awareness about the gender gap in medical technologies for women, especially with regard to sexual and reproductive health.
