Background Information: Parental use of the Induction Room (IR) prior to surgery/procedures has been in effect at Children’s Hospital Colorado since 1986. Recently our orthopedic team decided to stop all parental inductions, citing the success of their SSI spinal fusion bundle which includes no Parental Presence for Induction for Anesthesia (PPIA). This decision was brought to all multidisciplinary surgical teams for evaluation and potential ramifications.
