Abstract A new route to ferrocene indanone derivatives has been developed via the trinuclear N-heterocyclic carbene palladium(II)-catalyzed carbonylative C-C bond formation. Under a CO atmosphere, using o-bromoarylferrocene as substrate, this reaction proceeded smoothly to give the desired products in moderate to excellent yields within hours.
