Abstract To address increasingly energy and environment issues, fabricating some highly active and durable electrocatalysts by heteroatom-doped novel support materials substitutes are being actively pursued. Herein, a novel P and Se codoped-carbon (P–Se–C) is prepared as support for anchoring PdnAu (n refers to the molar Pd/Au ratio, n = 1, 2, 3) alloy nanoparticles applied in glycerol electrooxidation reaction (GOR). Combined with the merits of P–Se–C support and PdnAu alloy nanoparticles, a series of PdnAu/P–Se–C show better catalytic activity and superior stability towards GOR relative to those of Pd/P–Se–C, Pd/Se–C and Pd/C. Thereinto, PdAu/P–Se–C (n = 1) possesses the best catalytic performance towards GOR among as-obtained electrocatalysts. On account of all results, it is expected that the PdAu/P–Se–C would be a very suitable electrocatalyst towards GOR.
