Abstract We show that for every prime number p there exist finitely many circulant core complex Hadamard matrices of size p + 1 . The proof uses a ‘derivative at infinity’ argument to reduce the problem to Tao's uncertainty principle for cyclic groups of prime order (see [13] ).
