Abstract Togetherness of electrical and magnetic properties formulate the basis for advanced technologies of the world and to tailor these properties from the application point of view a composite system of (1-x)Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3(NBT)-(x)Ni0.25Co0.5Zn0.25Fe2O4(NiCoZn); (x = 0.2, 0.5, 0.8 and 1) has been developed via solid-state reaction route. Both formation and quality of samples are verified through XRD and Rietveld Refinement. Microstructural and elemental analysis was monitored using SEM and EDX and found that average grain size decreases with ferrite content. Deviation of refined lattice parameters indicating the structural distortion confirms the diffuse of both phases in each other during synthesis. Both dielectric constant and tangent loss found to obey Maxwell-Wagner polarization i.e. show dispersion in lower frequency region, at higher temperatures, and increase with the addition of NiCoZn. The overlapped normalized modulus curve on a single master curve shows a temperature independence of dynamical processes involved in conduction and relaxation. The presence of both long-range mobility and localized relaxation has been confirmed. Improvement electric properties have been observed in composite samples as compared to either of the solely phases. Magnetic parameters found to increase with NiCoZn. The ferroelectric phase gains magnetism with the introduction of the ferrite phase.
