Abstract Secondary phases precipitating after aging treatment in Cu-Ni-Si alloy will influence the texture of the copper alloy. The texture and the second phase characteristics under different aging processes were investigated. The results show that the strength of copper texture {2 1 1} 〈1 1 1〉 and Goss texture {0 1 1} 〈1 0 0〉 decreases gradually and the strength of cubic texture {0 0 1} 〈1 0 0〉 increases when the aging temperature increases. The second phase Ni2Si gradually accumulates as the aging temperature rises, mainly in spheres and squares, and influences the strength of the texture through the effect on distortion of the surrounding area.
