Abstract The strengthening effect of laser remelting on Ti-35Nb-2Ta-3Zr alloy was studied in this study. The surface of the material changed from an equiaxed crystal to a needle-like structure after laser remelting. Dislocations and ω phases were observed during the process, and the orientation relationship between ω phase and β matrix was identified as [11 0]β// [ 11 2 - 0 ] ω . The microhardness of the laser-remelted alloy increased significantly.
