Abstract A novel emulsion polymerization-extraction method was developed to synthesize polyanilines (PANIs). Compared with reported works, this method could prepare the xylene solution of PANIs directly with significantly enhanced concentration (24.08–64.50 g/L in this work vs. 3.83 g/L in reference), facilitating the preparation of uniform PANIs/poly(styrene-ethylene-butadienestyrene) (SEBS) mixtures to make the PANIs/SEBS conductive films. The as-prepared PANIs/SEBS films possessed as good conductivities as the reference reports (4.9 × 10−5–9.3 × 10−2 S/cm in this work vs. 10−5–10−4 S/cm in reference), and might be widely applied as flexible conductive materials in fabrication of some critical components (e.g. wearable devices) in electronic industry.
