Abstract Conjugated microporous polymer (CMPs) is a new subclass of porous organic materials with extended π-electron conjugated structures. Three new CMPs 33%Al2O3@CMP-1, 2, and 3 were synthesized based on θ-Al2O3 by the Schiff reaction. Their adsorption iodine capacities are 424, 279 and 237 wt%, respectively, which are 1.5, 1.1 and 1.3-times higher than those of the corresponding pristine CMP-1, CMP-2 and CMP-3, indicating that alumina has a positive effect on the iodine adsorption of adsorbent materials.
