Abstract In this study, the effects of annealing temperature on thermodynamic parameters and mechanical properties of a CuAlBeNbNiCr alloy were investigated. Thermodynamic parameters were obtained from the results of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and the mechanical properties were obtained from the tensile tests. Was observed a reduction, with the increase of temperature, at the magnitude of Gibbs free energy and elastic energies, such as enthalpy and entropy. Regarding the mechanical properties, was verified an increase in the rupture deformation and in the stress induction when the annealing temperature was higher than 800 °C. Our results bring to light the effectiveness of the annealing mechanism in altering the thermodynamic and mechanical properties of CuAlBeNbNiCr alloys, indicating the appropriate parameters for heat treatment according to the characteristics required for a practical application of these alloys.
