Abstract Creep damage assessment in HR3C steel was investigated by using the misorientation parameters in this study. The GROD, GOS, and GOS/D values in HR3C presented a monotonic increase tendency during creep. The largest rise of the misorientation parameter is GROD, which increased 322.80% after crept for 1300 h at 650℃/220 MPa. Besides, further analysis showed that the GROD value was far larger at those places that are close to the grain boundaries. Thus, the GROD can be used to characterize the intergranular damage in HR3C so as to prevent its catastrophic intergranular failure.
