Abstract In order to solve the high temperature problem of the pavement, the prepared 2DMts/SA phase change energy storage composite material was added to the geopolymer-based inorganic heat reflective coating to construct a new coating with TiO2-2DMts/SA. Among them, 2DMts/SA has good energy storage characteristics (242.37 J/g) and cycle stability. Through indoor cooling test and outdoor cooling test, the actual cooling effect of traditional heat-reflective coating (coating with TiO2) and novel coating with TiO2-2DMts/SA was compared. The results showed that coating with TiO2-2DMts/SA has a better cooling effect under both indoor and outdoor test conditions. Compared with control check sample, coating with TiO2-2DMts/SA sample reduced 24.8 ℃ and 7.29 ℃ on average under two kinds of conditions, respectively. The novel coating with TiO2-2DMts/SA can further absorb the unreflected heat energy when TiO2 greatly reflected the heat radiation, thereby delaying the increase of pavement temperature.
