Abstract The paper describes a new method, Magnetic Nanoparticles Focusing 3D (MNF-3D), for focusing of magnetic particles at any point in a three-dimensional space 3D in aqueous solutions. The method is based on a rotating magnet system and it uses a special configuration of a rotating magnetic field around a sample. The magnetic field is generated by four permanent neodymium magnets to focus magnetite particles in a solution. A rotation of the configured magnet system around a sample with ferromagnetic particles, results in a fast focusing of those particles in a 3D space. The method enables the concentration of a magnetic drug carrier in a desired area and thereby promotes a release of an appropriate drug dose.
