Abstract We introduce a novel and simple experimental technique to extract all four parameters of a single dispersion Cole-Cole impedance model by performing two measurements only. The method is centered around embedding the unknown impedance within an electronic sinusoidal oscillator network and then measuring at two different oscillation frequencies the start-up amplifier gain. Subsequently, solving together a set of nonlinear equations yields all four unknowns. The accuracy of the method is experimentally assessed in comparison with measurements using a precision impedance analyzer.
