The mixtures of template carbon foams and carbon spheres were synthesized by pyrolysis of hexane over Ni foam, followed by graphitization. All samples were analyzed by scanning and transmission electron microscopy, the BET method, thermogravimetry, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The standard enthalpy of formation of the presented material ( Δ f H 298 0 = 1.29 ± 0.35  kJ g−1) was determined for the first time.
