Abstract A simple sensitive spectrofluorometric method was developed to determine lomefloxacin hydrochloride (LOM) in human urine. The method is based on the measurement of the native fluorescence of LOM in 2 × 10−4 mol·L−1 H2SO4 at λ emission = 451 nm upon excitation at 323 nm. Urinary excretion pattern was also calculated using the proposed spectrofluorometric method taking the advantage of direct measurement without any preliminary steps. The proposed method was validated according to FDA Guidance for Industry Bioanalytical Method Validation.
