Abstract Organic functionalization of periodic mesoporous silicas (PMSs) is an imperative and effective measure to advance their preeminent properties and widespread application due to their structural superiority. In this study, we reported a novel synthesis of organic functionalized PMSs by co-condensing (R’O) 3 Si-H and (R’O) 3 Si-R type terminal trialkoxyorganosilanes based on periodic mesoporous hydridosilica, which is stable but pore walls are comprised of a three-connected three-dimensional network. The synthesis extended the “co-condensation” strategy and broke the incorporation limitation of organic groups by HSiO 3 units in the framework to form hydrogen bonds, which provided a more effective way to obtain PMSs with high degree of organic functionalization.
