Abstract The phenomenon of ringing is described as the undesirable oscillation on the square waves of the electronic circuits output. This phenomenon is reviewed within the frame of this work through two brief presentations. First, the ways of ringing formation especially on the integrated circuits (ICs). Second, the methods which help to minimize or remove this ringing. Useful experimental results of the radiation effect on the 555 ICs Timer were obtained. It was noticed that the ringing amplitude decreased and the waves shape improved with the increasing of the radiation dose of gamma rays and reactor neutron without hindering the ICs operation.
